Baudelaire, modern yet anti-modern
Many know the name, but few know the man. Today, whilst innumerable artists appropriate his words, the genius remains bathed in a somewhat sombre light. To celebrate the bicentennial of Baudelaire's birth, we discover some of the poet's paradoxes, those of the modern reactionary, a misunderstood genius, odious yet sublime.
