LA FEMME SANS NOM

The Musée d'Orsay in Paris is home to Courbet's "L'Atelier du Peintre, Allégorie Réelle". The artist is represented with Charles Baudelaire and alongside the silhouette of Jeanne Duval, the poet's muse and mistress, that the artist later erased: a remorse that symbolised his erasure of the Baudelairian story.
