Berthe Morisot
The only woman in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874, Morisot founded the Société Anonyme des Artistes Peintres, Sculpteurs et Graveurs with Monet, Renoir, Pissarro and Degas. This independent, radical artist with her limpid palette and radiant style was much criticised. At the time, there was rigid resistance to the recognition of women artists.
Directed by Jacques Vichet (France, 2019)
