"How do you live your life when the law criminalising homosexuality makes you a criminal and easy prey? Where do you go when you no longer have a future in your own country? Bijoux asks these questions in Yaoundé, Cameroon. When we meet her at the end of 2021, she has just survived another lynching. LGBTQIA+ activist Shakiro experienced the same fate. This report is the story of two people who feel like "women in a man's body". Supported by NGOs and defended by their lawyers, they highlight their humanity to anyone who is prepared to listen. Can the coming out of Brenda Biya, the daughter of the Cameroonian President, change attitudes and the law?
