Niger: fragile stability

Astride the border between the Sahara and the Sahel, Niger is a land-locked country that, for the last fifteen years, has faced a growing threat from terrorist groups. So far, these armed groups do not seem to have settled within Niger itself, making it a centre of relative stability.
