Protectors of the land to the rescue of biodiversity
In Canada, the most ambitious protected area projects are led by Indigenous people. Their success relies on the protectors of the land, whose role is inspired by an Innu concept encouraging care for the environment. In Labrador, the Sheshatshiu reserve is home to one of the most successful programmes.
